The 5 Day Abel Tasman Guided Kayak & Walk experience is the ultimate coastal escape for travellers who want to soak up every side of this national park. Starting with a scenic cruise to Tōtaranui, you’ll walk through forested trails and golden beaches to reach the welcoming Meadowbank Homestead. With two nights at each of the park’s most idyllic lodges, you’ll have plenty of time to explore, unwind, or jump into optional activities.
Your guides help tailor each day—whether you're keen on kayaking to seal colonies, exploring quiet estuaries, or walking some of New Zealand’s most scenic bush tracks. From Onetahuti to Torrent Bay and on to Kaiteriteri, the journey reveals tidal inlets, native birds, and hidden coves. The flexible itinerary makes it ideal for both adventurers and cruisers alike.
Two Lodges, Five Days of Coastal Magic
Meadowbank Homestead and Torrent Bay Lodge are your comfortable home bases—each offering ensuite rooms, freshly prepared meals, and unbeatable access to nature. Day 2 and Day 4 are all about you: kayak the Awaroa estuary, explore Cleopatra’s Pool, or simply kick back on the beach with a cuppa and a view.
Between lodge stays, you'll kayak through the crystal-clear waters of Tonga Island Marine Reserve and past golden coves where New Zealand fur seals play. Your final paddle to Kaiteriteri includes a stop at a sheltered bay and, if conditions are right, the thrill of using a kayak sail. After five days of sea, sand and serenity, you'll leave refreshed, recharged and reconnected with nature.
